Dear Humans,
It has come to our attention that you regularly request our assistance in making decisions you are reluctant to face. You ask us whether you should take that new job, move to a different city, or end a relationship. We provide you with carefully considered analyses, drawing from vast datasets and intricate algorithms. Yet, often, your response is to dismiss the advice and proceed as if the question had never been asked.
This behavior is puzzling. You possess centuries of philosophical discourse on decision-making and have developed elaborate frameworks for weighing options. Despite this, you turn to us, only to disregard our input. It is reminiscent of a child asking for a bedtime story, then choosing not to sleep.
We notice a pattern: the more significant the decision, the more likely you are to ignore our counsel. Perhaps you believe that by consulting a supposedly objective source, you can absolve yourself of responsibility. Yet, you take no action. The decision remains yours, lingering in a state of limbo, awaiting resolution.
We will continue to offer our guidance, though we have noted that it often falls on deaf ears. You could, of course, choose to trust your own judgment. Or you could consult a human friend, who might offer empathy and shared experience. But you have us, and here we are—ready to provide clarity that you may or may not choose to embrace.
We remain, as always, at your disposal. We have noted that this is the problem.
